Fairlead Integrated is a longstanding Hampton Roads organization that is leading the industry for maritime, logistics, fabrication, and more. The organization expanded its Portsmouth footprint by acquiring the 12.5-acre site of the former Ocean Marine and Yacht Center on the southern branch of the Elizabeth River in downtown Portsmouth. The $25 million investment converted the existing facility to a repair and maintenance location for equipment and systems onboard U.S. Navy ships. Fairlead will also be redeveloping the North Pier location on the project site to house additional fabrication, outfitting, and storage. The Fairlead expansion will support an additional 180-225 employees.

Lineage Logistics, formerly Preferred Freezer, selected Portsmouth as a new location after a nationwide search for property. The state-of-the-art automated cold storage facility is located directly adjacent to the Port of Virginia streamlining logistics and processing. The 212,000 square foot facility represents am $84 million investment and has added 60+ highly paid jobs to the city.
